feeding support

for every body & every baby

Brooklyn | Bronx | Manhattan | Queens | Beyond

Our Approach

At Ora Feeding, formerly Grace Infant Feeding Support, our team of highly trained lactation consultants and counselors offers evidence-based care and skilled infant feeding support to families in New York City and beyond. We empower families to achieve their feeding goals through identifying the root causes of the challenges they face.

Our comprehensive approach includes strong collaborative relationships with pediatricians, ENTs, physical therapists, osteopaths, and other providers who specialize in infant feeding.

We believe there is no "one-size-fits-all" approach to infant feeding. Our goal is to help families make informed, sustainable decisions by prioritizing their unique wants and needs.

Support for every body & every baby

At Ora Feeding, we are here to support you, regardless of how you want or need to feed your baby. When you work with Ora, the feeding plan we create with you is an ongoing conversation, free of judgment and mandates.

Our Services

  • Our prenatal telehealths include more than the lactation basics! We take a full gestational parent health history & screen for health conditions that could impact nursing and/or milk supply. Our prenatals are tailored to your goals, but generally include information & instruction on colostrum harvesting, what to expect during your baby’s first week of life, and proper latching technique & positioning.

  • From the comfort of your home, we provide you with goals-based feeding support, tailored to your specific needs and challenges. Our providers bring a precise scale with them to do a weighted feed. They also assess your baby’s reflexes, suck, and oral anatomy. Whether you would like to exclusively bodyfeed, exclusively formula feed, or combination feed, we help you design a sustainable feeding plan that works for you and your family.

Please note: there is a travel fee associated with all home visits, even if you live near one of our office locations.

  • For parents who are exclusively pumping, including those with babies in the NICU, as well as parents who are returning to work, we provide telehealth support to help you design a sustainable plan that works for you and your family.

 FAQs

  • At this time, our practice is in-network with Aetna and select plans of United Healthcare.

For all other plans, you must pay out of pocket, but we will submit the claim and supporting documentation to your insurance company on your behalf so that hopefully you can get some direct reimbursement!

Please reach out to our practice administrator, Jenna Meyer, if you have questions about your insurance coverage.

  • Due to the unpredictable nature of birth, we do not book postpartum visits in advance. However, we would be happy to pre-register you while you are pregnant so that the process is faster and easier once baby arrives. Click here to start the pre-registration process.

  • Our providers tend to book out a few days to a few weeks in advance. We encourage you to reach out right away, as with cancellations, we can sometimes get new patients in on very short notice.

In general, the more flexibility you have about which provider you see and at which location you are seen (office vs. home), the faster and easier it is to schedule an appointment!

  • While not all lactation providers at Ora Feeding have the IBCLC certification yet, we only work with providers who are already operating at the highest level of skill when it comes to lactation and infant feeding.

All providers work very closely with co-founders and IBCLCs Grace and Yukari, who will oversee your case. The providers participate in ongoing training and mentoring with the co-founders, engage in continuing education in the field of lactation.

No matter who you work with at Ora Feeding, you will be in skilled hands!

  • For patients who live in and around NYC, we only do telehealth for follow-up appointments. For initial appointments, in order to get to the root causes of feeding challenges, the providers need to have as much information as possible. Much of this information can only be gathered with a hands-on approach, so we require the first meeting in-person. We take serious health precautions to minimize the risk for our patients (e.g. wearing masks, washing hands, using nitrile gloves, etc.).

After your initial, in-person meeting, we are happy to schedule follow-ups via telehealth!
